Top 10 Products by Steve Jobs

These are 10 products created under Steve Jobs direction - some changed our lives, all of them defined his.

Apple I (1976) - Apple's first product was a computer designed by Steve Wozniak, while Steve Jobs orchestrated the funding and handled the marketing.

Apple II (1977) - One of the first successful personal computers, designed as a mass-market product rather than something for engineers or enthusiasts.

Lisa (1983) - Jobs' visit to Xerox Corp.'s research center in Palo Alto inspired him to start work on the first commercial computer with a graphical user interface, with icons, windows and a cursor controlled by a mouse. It was the foundation for today's computer interfaces, but the Lisa was too expensive to be a commercial success.

Macintosh (1984) - Macintosh had a graphical user interface and was also cheaper and faster and had the backing of a large advertising campaign behind it. People soon realized how useful the graphical interface was for design. That led "desktop publishing," accomplished with a Mac coupled to a laser printer, to soon become a sales driver.

NeXT Computer (1989) - After being forced out of Apple, Jobs started a company that built a powerful workstation computer. The company was never able to sell large numbers, but the computer was influential: The world's first Web browser was created on one. Its software also lives on as the basis for today's Macintosh and iPhone operating system.

iMac (1998) - When Jobs returned to Apple in 1996, the company was foundering, with an ever shrinking share of the PC market. The radical iMac was the first step in reversing the slide. It was strikingly designed as a bubble of blue plastic that enclosed both the monitor and the computer. Easy to set up, it captured the imagination just as people across the world were having their eyes opened to the benefits of the Internet and considering getting their first home computer.

iPod (2001) - It wasn't the first digital music player with a hard drive, but it was the first successful one. Apple's expansion into portable electronics has had vast ramifications. The iPod's success prepared the way for the iTunes music store and the iPhone.

iTunes Store (2003) - Before the iTunes store, buying digital music was a hassle, making piracy the more popular option. The store simplified the process and brought together tracks from all the major labels. The store became the largest music retailer in the U.S. in 2008

iPhone (2007) - The iPhone did for the phone experience what the Macintosh did for personal computing - it made the power of a smartphone easy to harness. Apple is now the world's most profitable maker of phones, and the influence of the iPhone is evident in all smartphones.

iPad (2010) - Dozens of companies, including Apple, had created tablet computers before the iPad, but none caught on. The iPad finally cracked the code, creating a whole new category of computer practically by itself.

He resigned as the CEO of the company in August this year, after which Cook took over as the CEO and the company named Jobs as the Chairman.
The news Apple fans and shareholders had been dreading came the day after Apple unveiled its latest version of the iPhone, just one in a procession of devices that shaped technology and society while Jobs was running the company.

Following is Apple CEO Tim Cooks statement after the death of Steve Jobs
I have some very sad news to share with all of you. Steve passed away earlier today.
Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing human being. Those of us who have been fortunate enough to know and work with Steve have lost a dear friend and an inspiring mentor. Steve leaves behind a company that only he could have built, and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple.

We are planning a celebration of Steve's extraordinary life for Apple employees that will take place soon. If you would like to share your thoughts, memories and condolences in the interim, you can simply email rememberingsteve@apple.com.
No words can adequately express our sadness at Steve's death or our gratitude for the opportunity to work with him. We will honor his memory by dedicating ourselves to continuing the work he loved so much.

Share your Google+ Circles

Google+ rolled out a new feature that let users to share who’s in their “circles”.
Google Plus has become a way for people to follow favorite celebrities, talking heads in certain fields and other interesting folks, and users have been asking for a way to share those groups with one another. Users can now do that by choosing a circle from Circles tab and clicking “share this circle” option. Users can decide which circles they want to share that information with.

When you share a circle, you only share who’s in it, and not the name of the circle. So if someone is in your “Acquaintances” circle instead of your “Friends” circle, they’ll never have to know. Even if you share a circle, all subsequent edits are private.

Until now, when you uploaded to YouTube, your video was hosted and shared, but couldn't really be changed. But now, you can edit your uploaded videos right on YouTube.  Video makers have lamented that strings of online comments and view count tallies are lost when works are removed for editing and then uploaded anew to YouTube.

If you don’t like the new version, you can revert to the original and save again. You can also save your edits into a new video and try out multiple versions. Note that popular videos with over 1,000 views and videos with third-party content can only be saved as new videos once edited.

New Online Game: Angry Anna

Anna Hazare’s battle against corruption has now inspired a free online game. The game Angry Anna is an imitation of the popular game, Angry Birds. Angry Anna is developed by Geek Mentors Studio.

In the game, Team Anna members play the part of the birds while the UPA ministers take the hit.  The game has four levels, unlike the seven levels of the original angry birds, each stage is difficult to another and finally takes out all black money from partially damaged faces of corrupt leaders of India, and should be cleared to get to the last level. The tag line of the game says, "Some corrupt politicians are stealing our beloved nation's money. Lets wipe them out".
It's between Anna Hazare and the corrupt Indian Politicians. Player has to help Anna and his team to reach other side where some corrupt Indian politicians are seen with black money, player has to skillfully reach Anna, Baba Ramdev and Kiran Bedi to break blocked walls to free all black money from politicians like Kapil Sibal, Suresh Kalmadi and Manmohan Singh.
The popularity is increasing everyday with the current situation going on in Anna's camp and India's political section. It's the time for 'Angry Anna.
